MetroFuture prioritizes the remediation of contaminated sites that pollute the environment and have negative impacts on neighboring real estate.

MetroFuture focuses more growth near existing (or new) town and village centers, at a scale appropriate to the surroundings.

MetroFuture's land use plan supports transportation choices that the region desperately needs. 

While MetroFuture calls for more growth in and near existing cities and town centers, it also recognizes that that growth must be designed well in order to improve quality of life. 

Fewer towns would see drastic population increases that destabilize municipal finances, or massive commercial developments that erode community character. 

MetroFuture will enhance the rich history of Metro Boston that sets it apart from other places. 

More of the region's special open spaces and traditional New England landscapes will be preserved.
