DHCD's Community Assistance Unit (CAU) is sponsoring a free workshop titled "Housing Production Plans: What's New, What Communities Can Do."

The Green Roundtable—Brown Bag Lunch & LEED
All are welcome to bring a brown bag lunch to this monthly session where NEXUS addresses any questions you have about the LEED Rating System for green buildings. This is a particularly good event for anyone at the first stages of considering becoming a LEED AP. If you can't attend this month, the Brown Bag Lunch & LEED happens the first Tuesday of every month.

Ten out of twelve months a year (Except March & August), the North Shore Chamber of Commerce holds its monthly Economic & Public Policy Breakfast Forums that feature timely topics and important community speakers. Over 250 North Shore business leaders attend each Breakfast Forum held the first Wednesday of each month.

The MetroBoston DataCommon, a "sister" initiative to MetroFuture, is an online tool that provides data about the region and each of its cities and towns. It is a resource for all those wishing to better understand how the region and its communities are changing,  and help residents, planners, city and town officials, educators, and journalists  explore options and make informed decisions.  At monthly training sessions held at MAPC's offices, participants learn how to:

  • quickly access statistics about your city or town
  • conduct analysis with social and economic data
  • customize your own maps
  • print-out maps or email maps

Little Pink House: A Reception with Susette Kelo
The Institute for Justice and the Pioneer Institute for Public Policy Research will host Susette Kelo, whose New London waterfront home was taken by eminent domain, sparking a court battle that ended in a controversial United States Supreme Court decision, and Jeff Benedict, the nationally renowned investigative journalist whose latest book, Little Pink House, takes the reader behind the scenes of this landmark case.
